From Christian & Dominic Williams:
CrossFit Sav-Up has generously offered to put on a fundraiser for our new Nephew! He was born 5-20-15 with a few genetic disorders and has been in the hospital for close to a month now. He’s got a long road ahead of him the next year or so full of surgeries. Donations will be accepted at the gym but are NOT required to participate in this event, just your sweat support is good enough for us.The saturday workout will be made by Christian, and a potluck BBQ will go on till 2pm. hope to see you there!
Here is some information about his condition:
Baby Henderson has a condition known as VACTERL (more info here: http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/health/v/vacterl/) Of this condition, it would appear he only has A (anal atresia) & C (Cardiac Anomalies).
Surgery #1 (of 3) to fix his intestinal issues was successfully performed on 5-25-15. Baby is recovering well and should go home in a week or so. Surgery #2 will be roughly 2 months from now, followed by #3 two months after #2.
The cardiac anomaly is what is referred to as Tetralogy of Fallot. An informative video on the 4 abnormalities asscoiated with this condition can be found here: https://youtu.be/Be3tuYMgA9I
That surgery (surgeries?) will be performed in roughly 6 months when baby is nice and healthy and gets some more fat on them bones.
My sister and her fiance are doing well. Baby is improving everyday and they are looking forward to the bright future they have ahead of them with their new son!
The staff at UCSF Benioff Childrens Hospital have been incredible and we are grateful for all they have and done and continue to do.
If you would like to follow along on the progress of Baby Henderson a Caring Bridge account has been set up here: http://www.caringbridge.org/…/v…/id/5564a0bfab28b9c673764c11
Please do not send any donations through Caring Bridge. If you would like to assist my sister and her little family donations can be made here: http://www.gofundme.com/v8a2qa4
Thanks for all your thoughts and well wishes. they are very much appreciated!!
